The transaction, completed last Friday, increased PHINMA Education’s ownership of the school to 94.62 percent, marking its entry into the Cavite market.
The deal adds 3,000 students to PHINMA Education’s network, which now totals 167,000 enrollees, making it the largest private education network not just in the Philippines but also in in Southeast Asia.
SJC Dasmariñas Cavite is the group’s tenth school in the Philippines and twelfth across the region.
“SJC Dasmariñas Cavite continues our thrust to make education as accessible as possible to underserved youth,” said Happy Tan, PHINMA Education country chief-Philippines. “Our newest school expands PHINMA Education’s presence in Southern Luzon and nearby regions.”
The move is PHINMA Education’s first acquisition since receiving investment from private equity firm KKR, signaling further growth ambitions.
PHINMA Education president and CEO Chito Salazar emphasized the broader impact of the network.
“We will continue growing our network as we find more ways to reach learners that need education the most,” he said. “The more students we can serve, the more individuals and families we will uplift through education.”
SJC Dasmariñas Cavite offers programs aligned with PHINMA’s mission to provide affordable, outcomes-based education. The acquisition further strengthens the company’s presence in the Philippines, with schools in regions like Cebu, Iloilo, and Laguna.
Founded in 2004, PHINMA Education has grown significantly, serving over 150,000 students through its Philippine schools and its regional venture, Horizon Education in Indonesia. It is part of PHINMA Corp., a Filipino-owned conglomerate with interests in education, construction, property, and hospitality.
