China Bank Savings donated P11 million in prizes for National Teachers Day, to be held at Araneta Center on Oct. 3 this year.

The prizes included savings deposits, laptops, motorcycles, and a Toyota Innova for the grand prize.

Additionally, more than 10,000 teachers received special tokens.

CBS partnered with the Department of Education to support public education and teacher welfare nationwide.

Since 2016, CBS has contributed over P30 million to teachers through DepEd programs. CBS also pledged ongoing support for Project GURO, which helps teachers pursue master's degrees.

“We salute all Filipino educators, especially the teachers in the countryside and in challenge areas such as the ‘last mile schools’,” CBS first vice president Niel C. Jumawan said in a statement.

“Your tireless service to ensure the welfare of the broader community has not gone unnoticed. Because of your patient labors in and outside your classrooms, our nation stands on the cusp of a great beginning,” he added.

CBS, a subsidiary of China Banking Corporation, operates 275 branches and 213 ATMs nationwide, focusing on SME financing, retail banking, and community development with its “Easy Banking for You” promise.
