FEU said all conditions under the deal announced in March have been completed, formally giving it a 54.78 percent stake in Bataan Peninsula Educational Institution Inc. (BPEII).
The transaction also gives FEU a 76.92 percent interest in the land where the school operates, putting both the institution and most of its property under the university group’s expanding footprint.
FEU acquired its controlling stake by subscribing to 39,500 BPEII shares, while the parties also executed a shareholders’ agreement.
The acquisition adds to the scale of one of the country’s largest private education networks, whose enrollment reached nearly 60,000 students last year, the highest since before the pandemic.
The group operates campuses in Manila, Alabang and Cavite and offers 117 academic programs, including newer courses in healthcare, business and artificial intelligence aimed at emerging industries.
The Bataan acquisition extends that footprint into another province as FEU expands beyond its existing campuses.
