Converge ICT Solutions is accelerating its evolution from a pure fiber provider into a full-scale technology powerhouse — a shift that’s reshaping the competitive landscape and widening the country’s path toward digital inclusion.
That broader impact comes into focus as CEO and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy was named Businessman of the Year at Esquire Philippines’ Man at His Best Awards 2025, a recognition that amplifies his nationwide push for accessible, future-ready connectivity.
Speaking at the Nov. 18 ceremony, Uy said, “I don’t really see myself as a businessman. I’ve always been someone passionate about technology and how it can improve lives. As we look to the future, our work at Converge continues as we evolve into a technology company. We will keep using technology for good and ensure that no Filipino is left behind in this digital age.”
Why it matters
Converge’s tech-forward pivot positions it to deliver more than fast internet. It opens the door to advanced digital services and scalable solutions that can support industries, empower communities, and close structural connectivity gaps.
“To my fellow entrepreneurs, may we keep going hand in hand in building a connected and digitally empowered country,” Uy added.
The big picture
Esquire’s 2025 “Architects of Tomorrow” roster celebrates leaders transforming the country through innovation and creativity.
Uy joined honorees including Lav Diaz, Sen. Bam Aquino, Jericho Rosales, Butch Dalisay, Glenda Gloria, IV of Spades, and Jorge Mendez.
Converge, which Uy co-founded with his spouse, Maria Grace Uy, has built one of the Philippines’ largest fiber networks, with over 888,000 kilometers of infrastructure, reaching nearly three million homes.
A mission anchored on access
Uy’s leadership has earned international praise, from the 2024 PCCI Country Mover Award to representing the Philippines at the 2023 EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
“I share this award with those who stand with me every day, especially my employees, partners, and customers,” he said.
He highlighted Converge’s push to lower costs and expand reach: “I’m the first one to offer prepaid fiber connection — we started at only 700 pesos. But that’s still expensive. We need to find a way to make every Filipino connected because this is a basic requirement for digital transformation.”
What’s next
With its techco transition accelerating, Converge plans to roll out new digital products and enterprise solutions, reinforcing Uy’s vision of a more inclusive, innovative, and fully connected Philippines.
