This will allow Converge to provide high-speed fiber connectivity to over 150 businesses and 70,000 workers at the Lopez-led First Philippine Industrial Park using the latter’s inactive fiber cable infrastructure, also known as dark fiber.
The company built its dark fiber facility last year to allow for high-speed and efficient internet infrastructure.
This setup also gives companies in the park the flexibility to choose their preferred internet service provider, improving overall connectivity options.
The deal with First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) marks the first major initiative of Converge’s newly established Global Business Group.
This division focuses on delivering high-speed, dependable, and scalable connectivity and tech solutions for businesses, both in the Philippines and internationally.
Management’s view
“Industrial parks such as FPIP, whose main clientele are multinationals, are major engines of economic growth not just for CALABARZON but for the entire country,” said Uy, the co-founder and CEO of Converge.
“This is the reason why these economic zones must be state-of-the-art and second to none: these are crucial in bringing in foreign investments. Converge is proud to be one of the chosen providers of connectivity in this world-class industrial park, where we believe we can add even more to their competitive edge,” he added.
Lopez also welcomed the partnership, which was sealed during a contract signing at the Rockwell Business Center last Oct. 11.
“We recognize the critical role that advanced connectivity solutions play in the day-to-day operations of FPIP locators,” Lopez said.
“That is why we are committed to investing in robust digital infrastructures and cutting-edge connectivity. We are confident that Converge will deliver these crucial services to FPIP, which will foster innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and drive growth for the locators within the industrial park,” he added.
Diverse manufacturing hub
FPIP, established in 1996, has become a top industrial park in the Philippines, rapidly expanding and attracting global manufacturing giants.
It hosts major players like Canon, Collins Aerospace, Dyson, Honda, and Nestle, serving both domestic and international markets across various industries.
