The big picture
DITO president and CEO Eric Alberto pointed to recent milestones: broadband speeds of 92.87 Mbps for 4G and 597.7 Mbps for 5G, earning DITO the title of Philippines’ Fastest Mobile Network from Opensignal
“Winning 14 out of 16 Mobile Network Experience awards… is a testament to DITO’s unwavering commitment to deliver world-class connectivity to every Filipino,” said Alberto.
“Our ultimate ambition is… to elevate the Philippines’ digital aptitude… to First World standards,” he added.
Fast growth, wireless reach
Chief Revenue Officer Atty. Adel Tamano introduced WoWFi, DITO’s plug-and-play 5G-powered FWA product, now with 250,000 users and growing by 1,200 per day.
“Out of 24 million households… only 8 to 9 million are served with broadband… DITO WoWFi is our answer,” he said.
“This isn’t just about launching another product… DITO is committed to delivering real value,” Tamano added.
Why it matters
The Philippines’ broadband market remains underserved and expensive, especially in areas beyond fiber’s reach. DITO aims to fill this gap through FWA powered by 5G standalone (SA) architecture, skipping legacy systems entirely.
Fiber alternative
Chief Technology Officer Rodolfo Santiago said DITO’s SA infrastructure allows deployment of RedCap, a low-power 5G protocol for IoT and smart devices.
“Our WoWFi offers 5G capabilities at the cost of 4G with the reliability of fiber—wireless pa,” said Santiago.
What’s next
With prepaid and postpaid WoWFi plans ranging from P180 to P1,490 per month, DITO is positioning itself as a viable nationwide broadband player—particularly for homes underserved by fiber.
Bottom line
As it scales FWA coverage and doubles down on 5G infrastructure, DITO is betting that wireless—not wires—is the answer to bridging the Philippines’ broadband gap.
