PLDT Enterprise, the corporate division of leading telecom provider PLDT, is expanding its efforts to bridge the digital divide through Long-range Fixed Wireless Access, a technology designed to bring high-speed connectivity to businesses and communities in underserved and remote areas across the country.

By leveraging advanced spectrum technologies, Long-range Fixed Wireless Access provides an alternative to traditional fiber infrastructure, offering cost-effective and flexible connectivity for businesses operating in locations with limited broadband access, the company said in a statement.

“At PLDT Enterprise, we recognize that reliable connectivity is a critical enabler of economic growth,” PLDT Enterprise enterprise consulting services and technology management head John Gonzales said. “Through Long-range Fixed Wireless Access, we can ensure that no business—regardless of location—is left behind in the digital transformation journey.”

Scalable, high-speed connectivity

The wireless solution aims to deliver fiber-like internet speeds, supporting high-bandwidth applications such as cloud computing, digital collaboration, and e-commerce. It is also scalable, allowing for deployment in urban, suburban, and rural areas where laying fiber-optic cables is impractical.

Additionally, the technology offers a cost-efficient alternative to traditional infrastructure, making it a viable option for businesses in hard-to-reach locations.

Commitment to digital inclusion

PLDT Enterprise’s initiative aligns with its broader mission to promote digital inclusion and support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by expanding access to broadband solutions that drive economic development, education, and business growth.

“Technology should be accessible to all, and Long-range Fixed Wireless Access reinforces our perpetual mission of ensuring that businesses, wherever they may be, have the tools they need to succeed in the digital economy,” Gonzales added.

The new solution complements PLDT Enterprise’s existing portfolio of fixed, wireless, and ICT services, further strengthening the company’s role in enabling digital transformation across industries.

PLDT Enterprise continues to develop connectivity solutions to help businesses enhance efficiency and unlock new opportunities in an increasingly digital landscape. More innovations are expected to be unveiled soon.
