Converge Angeles Data Center joins PH’s P6.4 trillion green lane pipeline

Converge ICT Solutions Inc.’s Angeles Data Center has joined the government’s P6.4-trillion green lane pipeline, giving its push into higher-margin digital infrastructure a faster route to market.

The status speeds up permits for the Pampanga facility as Converge expands beyond consumer broadband into data centers, cloud computing and carrier-neutral co-location.

"Securing Green Lane status for our Angeles Data Center underscores the vital role digital infrastructure plays in nation-building," Dennis Anthony H. Uy, CEO and co-founder of Converge, said in a statement on Thursday.

"With this strategic designation, we are eliminating regulatory friction to deploy resilient, world-class compute capacity faster. This facility isn't just expanding our enterprise portfolio—it is building the core digital foundation required to power the Philippines’ booming digital economy,” he added.

Permits move faster

The Board of Investments granted the endorsement to Pentagon Digital Global Corp., the Converge unit developing the facility.

Green lane status allows permits to move simultaneously across agencies and gives the project a dedicated government team to address regulatory bottlenecks.

The P6.4 trillion represents the combined value of all strategic investments covered by the program, not the cost of the Converge project, which remains undisclosed.

Fiber network anchors expansion

Once operational, the Angeles data center will tap Converge’s nationwide fiber backbone to support high-density computing, cloud workloads and domestic data storage.

Combining the new facility with its existing network will allow Converge to serve more enterprise clients without building its digital infrastructure business from scratch.

The project strengthens the company’s pivot toward higher-margin corporate services while reducing its reliance on the increasingly competitive consumer broadband market.
