PAL makes Melbourne flights daily from Nov. 19

Melbourne will become Philippine Airlines’ third daily destination in Australia as the flag carrier adds flights for the year-end travel rush.

PAL will increase its Manila-Melbourne service to seven flights a week starting Nov. 19 from the current five, a 40-percent jump in frequency.

New flight times

Flight PR 209 will leave Manila at 8:20 p.m. and arrive in Melbourne at 7:30 a.m. the next day.

The return flight, PR 210, will depart Melbourne at 9:20 a.m. and land in Manila at 2:25 p.m.

Australia reach widens

The expansion will bring PAL’s Australia network to 24 weekly flights.

The airline also flies daily to Sydney and Brisbane and three times a week to Perth.

Melbourne route turns 55

The additional service comes as PAL marks the 55th anniversary of its Melbourne route on Sept. 10.

PAL began flying to the city in 1971, making Melbourne one of its longest-served international destinations.
