Glenn D. Manlapaz takes over as CEO, while Winston S. Co moves from the dual role of president and CEO to chair and president.
As part of the board reshuffle, Katherine L. Tan and longtime Ayala Group executive and former Cabinet secretary Jose Rene Almendras have been elected as new directors.
They replace outgoing members Andrew L. Tan, now in his mid-70s, and lead independent director Enrique Soriano III.
Key directors including Kendrick and Kevin Tan, Winston Co, Jesli Lapus, and Ho Poh Wah remain on the board.
Who is Glenn Manlapaz?
Before his appointment as CEO, Manlapaz served as Emperador’s director for Asia and the Pacific, according to the company’s annual report.
Based on his LinkedIn profile, he brings over three decades of experience in the beverage and fast-moving consumer goods sectors across Southeast Asia.
He spent 13 years at Diageo in senior leadership roles in the Philippines and Indonesia, following earlier stints at Asia Brewery and as a faculty member at De La Salle University.
Manlapaz has led commercial, marketing, and regional operations across both emerging and developed markets.
Winston S. Co is now chair and president
• Co has served as director and president of Emperador Inc. since 2013 and of Emperador Distillers since 2007.
• He holds leadership roles across affiliated firms, including TWFLI, Cocos Vodka, and Alliance Global Brands.
• His expertise lies in finance and marketing of consumer products.
• Co graduated magna cum laude from Jose Rizal College with a degree in commerce.
Board reshuffle
Joining the board are Katherine Tan—the spouse of Andrew Tan—and Jose Rene Almendras as independent director.
Mrs. Tan has served as director and treasurer of Emperador Distillers Inc. since 2003 and holds similar roles across multiple firms under the Alliance Global Group.
She also chairs Andresons Global Inc. and leads several other companies, including Choice Gourmet Banquet and The Andresons Group.
Almendras has over 40 years of experience across Ayala, Aboitiz, Citibank, and key government posts under the Aquino administration.
He led Manila Water as president and chief operating officer and also served as CEO of multiple Ayala companies.
Most recently, he was 2024 president of the Management Association of the Philippines and is currently a consultant at Ayala Corp.
