CAMPI, established in 1995, is the country’s leading automotive industry association and accounts for some 92 percent of total Philippine vehicle sales as of May 2025. The organization plays a crucial role in working with the government and industry stakeholders to shape policy, set standards, and drive inclusive economic growth through innovation, sustainability, and job creation.
As a CAMPI member, VinFast will now work alongside top automotive players in advancing the transition to cleaner mobility in the Philippines. The EV firm’s inclusion is expected to support CAMPI’s agenda of environmental protection, technology transfer, and infrastructure development.
“This milestone marks a significant step forward in our commitment to shaping the future of mobility in the Philippines through clean, smart, and sustainable transportation,” said Doan Thi Mai Anh, CEO of VinFast Philippines. “ VinFast will actively collaborate with industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to support innovation, infrastructure, and responsible vehicle manufacturing and distribution across the nation.”
CAMPI president Rommel Gutierrez welcomed VinFast to the fold, stating that the brand’s entry “marks a significant milestone poised to inject renewed momentum into the Philippine automotive industry.” He emphasized VinFast’s potential to advance sustainable mobility and provide accessible electric transportation solutions nationwide.
VinFast entered the Philippine market in 2024 and has steadily expanded its presence through a growing lineup of EVs—including the VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, and VF 9—paired with compelling sales packages and strong after-sales support. The VF 6, in particular, is expected to drive EV adoption in the Philippines due to its affordability and proven success in other markets.
Backed by Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate, VinFast is extending its “For a Green Future” ecosystem to Southeast Asia. This includes investments in charging infrastructure and service networks, which have already proven successful in Vietnam and are now being scaled for the Philippine market. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
