The move marks a strategic leadership transition following years of steady expansion under Tan’s watch.
Tan, who led MREIT since its 2021 initial public offering, will now serve as chairman of the board.
During his tenure, MREIT’s office portfolio grew to 24 buildings with nearly half a million square meters of space, and earnings steadily climbed year after year.
Tan also holds top roles across the family-led empire, including president of Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI) and chairman of Travellers International.
Now stepping in as president and CEO, Batac brings over a decade of experience inside Megaworld, where he rose through the ranks from estate management to MREIT’s chief operating officer.
He is also Megaworld’s head of sustainability and was instrumental in shaping the group’s green initiatives across its townships.
Batac holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Santo Tomas and diplomas in urban planning and property management from UP Diliman and the University of British Columbia.
Before joining Megaworld, he held leadership roles at Ayala Land, where he was director of estate management, and Ateneo de Manila University, where he was director for facilities.
