President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. appointed Undersecretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque as Acting Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) effective Aug. 2, 2024, after Secretary Alfredo Pascual resigned.
The announcement was made by the Presidential Communications Office on Friday.
Roque, founder of the Kamiseta fashion and beauty group, has led the department’s MSME Development division, managing the Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development and the Small Business Corporation.
She holds a B.S. in Industrial Management Engineering from De La Salle University and completed her secondary education at De La Salle Santiago Zobel.
The President highlighted DTI’s vital role in economic growth and praised Roque’s dedication to the micro, small and medium-sized enterprise sector.
