A founding member of DITO, Tamano has been part of the core team since day one, playing a vital role in securing regulatory approvals and launching the company as the country’s third major telco.
He has since taken on several key positions, including chief administrative officer and official spokesperson, and most recently led the enterprise division, where he helped double revenues in just a year.
“His ability to build and scale new business segments, combined with expertise in regulatory compliance and corporate governance, positions him well to drive the expansion of our consumer business,” DITO CEO Eric Alberto and chief executive advisor Xiao We wrote in a company letter announcing Tamano’s promotion.
Tamano will also continue to lead DITO’s enterprise and carrier business units.
Backing him in his expanded role are Jack Chen Hao and Toh Lee Chiang, who bring global strategic expertise from China Telecom and Singapore Telecommunications, respectively.
Last year, DITO completed its five-year rollout commitment, surpassing network targets with 86.3 percent population coverage and fast average speeds on both 4G and 5G. Management believes it can reach profitability by 2028, as revenue grows and major spending requirements taper off.
