The Ayala Group's ACMobility has acquired Evro, the Philippines’ pioneering brand-agnostic electric vehicle (EV) charging network, signaling a major push to close gaps in EV infrastructure and accelerate adoption nationwide.

Evro helps users find, reserve, and manage EV charging stations while connecting all major operators in one platform.

The acquisition transfers ownership from 917Ventures, Globe’s innovation arm, which developed Evro to address the lack of accessible EV charging solutions in the country.

Management’s view

“We are thrilled to bring Evro into the ACMobility ecosystem,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility. “Evro is changing the game for electric vehicle adoption in the Philippines. Alongside our efforts in ACMobility, it will address range anxiety concerns and empower EV owners to have full control of their charging experience.”

“The collaboration with 917Ventures and the Globe Group has been invaluable as we build a sustainable future for Filipino motorists together,” he added.

The app currently offers 33 active charging locations operated by ACMobility, strategically placed in key spots like Bonifacio High Street, Greenbelt 3, Alabang Town Center, Trinoma, Nuvali, Baguio Technohub, Ayala Center Cebu, Abreeza Mall Davao, and Anvaya Golf in Bataan.

ACMobility’s acquisition underscores its commitment to enhancing EV infrastructure amid a projected 10 percent annual growth in EV sales in the Philippines.

Evro app features

The Evro app allows EV drivers to locate the nearest compatible charging points and check availability in real time.

Users can remotely monitor their charging session’s progress and receive updates through the app.

Payments are cashless, enabling seamless transactions via GCash or credit card.

Evro was launched in 2024

The EV sector, targeting 2.45 million unit sales and 65,000 charging stations by 2028, continues to gain momentum as sustainable transport solutions become more popular.

“We built Evro with the intention of simplifying Filipino EV owners’ charging journeys,” said Vince Yamat, Managing Director of 917Ventures.

“Since launching earlier this year, we’ve made significant headway in advancing sustainable transport through our tech and partners. Entrusting Evro to ACMobility ensures it will continue to evolve and contribute to the advancement of sustainable transport,” he added.
