The company introduced its EVpreneur Program, which seeks to help transport entrepreneurs, fleet operators, drivers, and aspiring business owners participate in the country's expanding EV ecosystem through vehicle ownership, fleet operations, charging infrastructure, and related mobility services.
Why it matters
The initiative reflects a broader industry push to build local EV businesses alongside government efforts to modernize public transportation and reduce emissions. CarBEV said entrepreneurship could play a central role in expanding the country's electric mobility market.
The company facilitates financing solutions that allow qualified participants to finance up to 70 percent of vehicle acquisition costs through partnerships with financing institutions and industry stakeholders.
The program also provides access to fleet management, charging infrastructure, and business development support.
Leading the initiative is automotive entrepreneur and mobility advocate Hans Tan, also known as "King Panda," who has been named ambassador of the EVpreneur Program.
CarBEV said Tan will help promote awareness of business opportunities emerging from the country's transition to electric mobility.
What they're saying
"Electric mobility is not just about vehicles. It's about creating economic opportunities, generating jobs, and building businesses that can thrive in the future,” CarBEV CEO Christian Bradley said in a press statement.
“Electric mobility for public transportation, especially in the TNVS and taxi industry, is now experiencing rapid growth. This booming sector should primarily benefit Filipino entrepreneurs,” Bradley said.
“However, foreign electric mobility giants are rapidly capturing our market. Through CarBEV’s EVpreneur Program, we’re changing that by empowering local entrepreneurs-particularly those in the transport sector which is to build and scale their own electric mobility businesses. We provide financial support, access to the right EVs, and a sustainable business model that enables Filipinos to participate in and benefit from the country’s transition to electric mobility. We believe the future of electric mobility in the Philippines should be built by Filipinos, for Filipinos," he explained.
"The EV industry is entering a critical growth phase. Filipinos now have the opportunity to participate not only as consumers but as entrepreneurs who can build sustainable businesses around this transformation," EVpreneur program ambassador Hans Tan said in the same statement.
The backdrop
The program was introduced during CarBEV's kickoff event attended by officials from the Department of Trade and Industry's Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development and the Small Business Corporation, reflecting continued support for entrepreneurship and sustainable transportation initiatives.
The bottom line
CarBEV is positioning itself beyond vehicle sales by developing a broader EV ecosystem spanning financing, fleet services, charging infrastructure, and mobility solutions, while seeking to cultivate a new generation of Filipino entrepreneurs in the country's emerging electric mobility sector. —Vanessa Hidalgo| Ed: Corrie S.
