ACMobility, Shell open 8 EV charging hubs beyond Metro Manila

ACMobility and Shell Pilipinas Corp. are expanding the country’s electric vehicle charging network beyond Metro Manila, opening eight new fast-charging hubs as they push to build a nationwide infrastructure backbone for EV adoption.

The latest rollout strengthens charging access along key transport corridors, including new hubs on both sides of the North Luzon Expressway in Mexico, Pampanga, helping support longer-distance travel to northern destinations while extending the network into more provincial markets.

Building the EV Spine

“As we ramp up our efforts to build the Philippine EV Spine, we are grateful to have Shell as our partner in advancing the country towards sustainable mobility. Through our partnership, we’re making EV charging accessible along major thoroughfares that link key destinations across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” said Carla Buencamino, head of mobility infrastructure at ACMobility.

The expansion builds on a partnership signed in September 2025 to install DC fast chargers at Shell Mobility stations nationwide, combining Shell’s network of service stations with ACMobility’s charging infrastructure.

“Through this partnership, we’re bringing together Shell’s wide presence in strategic locations and ACMobility’s expertise in building EV charging infrastructure. By combining our complementary strengths, we’ll be able to serve the country’s growing community of EV drivers,” said Jolo Valdez, non-fuel retail and e-mobility manager for Shell Mobility.

Nationwide expansion

The new charging hubs are located at Shell Mexico NLEX Northbound and Southbound in Pampanga, Shell North Expressway Dau in Pampanga, Shell Subic in Zambales, Shell Mangaldan and Shell Tandayag Alaminos in Pangasinan, and Shell Bago Aplaya Talomo and Shell Matina Enclaves in Davao City.

The partners plan to expand the network to 50 Shell stations with more than 100 charge points nationwide, with additional sites in Pampanga, Cavite and Camarines Sur set to open soon and new hubs in Batangas, Bataan and Cebu already lined up for construction.

As of July 2026, ACMobility operates more than 200 charging locations across the Philippines. All charging hubs are integrated into the Evro app, allowing motorists to locate available chargers in real time, plan charging stops and pay through GCash or credit cards.
