OpenAI: Salesforce meets GPT-5 in ChatGPT and Slack
Salesforce’s Agentforce 360 platform will soon be accessible inside ChatGPT, letting users query sales records, review customer conversations, and build Tableau visualizations through natural language.
Enterprises can also use OpenAI’s latest frontier models, including GPT-5 (a unified system that knows when to respond quickly and when to think longer to provide expert-level responses) to build AI agents and prompts within the Salesforce Platform.
“Our partnership with Salesforce is about making the tools people use every day work better together, so work feels more natural and connected,” Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, said in a press release on Oct. 17, 2025.
A new commerce integration powered by the Agentic Commerce Protocol will let merchants sell to millions of ChatGPT users while maintaining full control of data, orders, and relationships.
ChatGPT is also coming to Slack, enhancing search, conversation summaries, and content drafting, while Codex will assist developers directly within Slack threads.
Google: Gemini powers hybrid reasoning in Agentforce
Salesforce is also expanding its collaboration with Google by integrating Gemini models into the Atlas Reasoning Engine behind Agentforce 360. The hybrid reasoning approach combines AI creativity with the reliability of enterprise processes, allowing users to automate complex workflows.
The integration embeds Salesforce tools directly into Google Workspace apps like Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Meet, giving employees secure access to CRM data within familiar environments. Slack’s Real-Time Search API will also connect with Gemini Enterprise for instant insights. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
