Brandy, whisky, now mezcal: Tycoon Andrew Tan expands with Los Danzantes deal

Tycoon Andrew Tan’s Emperador Inc. is making a high-stakes move into the booming mezcal market, securing a majority stake in Los Danzantes, a top player in premium spirits.

Through Casa Pedro Domecq, its Mexican subsidiary, Emperador now owns Los Danzantes and Alipus, two mezcal brands featured in high-end bars in over 20 countries.

As mezcal’s popularity explodes, these artisanal spirits are rising among the world’s best-selling and trendiest drinks.

With fresh capital, Emperador aims to accelerate global expansion, distribution, and branding.

Emperador Inc., the world’s top brandy maker, owns Emperador Brandy, Fundador, and premium Scotch brands like The Dalmore and Jura, with global reach in more than 100 countries.
