Lalamove has entered Germany, expanding its presence in Europe as the Hong Kong-founded on-demand delivery platform seeks to tap growing demand for flexible logistics solutions among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The company officially launched operations in the Berlin metropolitan area, marking a key milestone in its expansion across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The move adds Germany to Lalamove’s network of 17 markets spanning Asia, the Americas and EMEA.

Founded in 2013, Lalamove provides on-demand and scheduled delivery services through a technology-enabled platform that connects customers with driver partners.

Berlin launch

The company said in a statement its Germany entry is designed to address logistics challenges faced by SMEs, including limited access to affordable and trackable delivery services without long-term contractual commitments.

Lalamove’s platform allows businesses to book deliveries on demand or schedule them up to 30 days in advance, offering a flexible alternative to maintaining dedicated fleets.

Available 24/7, the service is already being used by Berlin-based businesses, including frozen pet food retailers, bicycle repair shops, universities, research institutions and catering companies.

The platform also offers real-time GPS tracking, live customer support, and the ability to add up to 20 drop-off locations within a single booking, helping businesses reduce delivery costs and travel time.

SME focus

Germany is home to more than 3.4 million SMEs, making it one of Europe’s largest markets for business-focused logistics services.

“Germany is home to more than 3.4 million SMEs, and they need logistics that can scale with the realities of day-to-day operations,” said Lalamove chief operating officer Paul Loo.

“Launching in Berlin is an important first step in building our German presence, bringing a flexible, affordable on-demand delivery option that helps businesses move goods and documents quickly, manage peak periods more efficiently, and maintain visibility from pick-up to drop-off,” the company said in the statement.

“With a growing number of driver partners already supporting operations in Berlin, we are well-positioned to grow with local demand as we expand to more cities across Germany and, over time, the wider EMEA region,” it added.

It said Lalamove has already built a growing customer base in Berlin, with some businesses integrating the service into their daily operations.

Growth plans

Supporting the expansion is a growing network of driver partners who can choose their own schedules and accept deliveries based on their availability.

Lalamove said the model provides additional earning opportunities while ensuring businesses have reliable delivery capacity during peak periods.

“Lalamove’s expansion into Germany reflects the growing global demand for agile, technology-driven delivery solutions that empower businesses of all sizes,” Lalamove Philippines managing director Djon Nacario said.

“Across markets, we’ve seen how SMEs increasingly rely on fast and reliable logistics partners to stay competitive and respond to changing customer expectations. Germany represents an exciting opportunity to bring Lalamove’s proven model to one of Europe’s most dynamic business environments, and we look forward to supporting local businesses as they scale and grow.”
