“Today, my role was made redundant as part of a broader organization redesign,” Borromeo said in a post on his Facebook page.
“It was a genuine privilege to be part of shaping the narrative of a storied business house at a very interesting time in its history. While learning from and being challenged by all kinds of extremely talented and bright people. For this, I will always be grateful,” he added.
A seasoned marketing and branding executive, Borromeo was tapped to lead Ayala’s communications group in March 2024.
He was also the designated spokesman handling reputation building and messaging as the country’s oldest conglomerate approaches its 200-year milestone.
Before joining Ayala, he served as chief strategy officer at BBDO Guerrero and earlier was vice president for corporate strategy at SM Supermalls.
He also spent several years in senior strategy roles within global advertising networks including McCann Worldgroup and J. Walter Thompson.
During his career, he has worked on brand and communications strategy for major companies such as Nestlé, Coca-Cola, Jollibee Foods Corp., and Bank of the Philippine Islands.
