The agreement places the Biñan campus under the government’s Green Energy Option Program, which allows large electricity users to choose renewable energy suppliers.
ACEN RES said the partnership highlights the growing shift of institutions toward cleaner power sources while helping reduce the campus’ carbon footprint.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with DLSU Laguna in their journey towards a sustainable future,” said Sheila Mina, vice president and head of account management at ACEN RES.
DLSU Laguna said the move supports its long-term vision of building a campus focused on scientific and technological innovation.
“Our switch to renewable energy with ACEN RES is a pivotal step in fulfilling our vision of becoming a key resource for scientific and technological advancements,” said Dr. Jonathan “River” Dungca, vice president of the DLSU Laguna campus.
The Laguna campus sits near Laguna Technopark and hosts programs focused on science, engineering and sustainability partnerships with global institutions.
ACEN RES currently leads the GEOP market with a 57 percent share, according to the latest Competitive Retail Electricity Market report from the Energy Regulatory Commission.
