Between Dec. 16, 2024, and Jan. 6, 2025, the airline accommodated over 400,000 passengers, exceeding its forecasted 300,000 travelers for this period, it said in a statement on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025.
This uptick reflects a renewed enthusiasm for travel among Filipinos, with many extending their holiday leaves to spend additional time with family in provincial areas, it added.
The airline reported that it maintained smooth operations throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays, underscoring its commitment to providing quality service.
AirAsia Philippines’ communications and public affairs head Steve Dailisan noted, “We expect a continuous increase in passenger traffic at our check-in counters until January 10th, as many of our kababayans have extended their holiday leave to enjoy more time with their loved ones in the provinces.”
Looking ahead, AirAsia Philippines is preparing for the busy summer travel season to key destinations such as Kalibo, Cebu, and Bohol.
