Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. (RRHI) has completed its nine-member board with the election of former Accenture Philippines country chief Manolito “Lito” Tayag as its fifth independent director.

He joins the board alongside Lance Y. Gokongwei, who also filled a vacancy after the May resignations of DFI Retail’s Scott Price and Curtis Liu.

“We are pleased to welcome Lito to the RRHI Board. His experience in strategy development and execution is poised to bring valuable insights and fresh perspectives as we continue our journey toward becoming an innovative and customer-centric retailer of choice,” RRHI chair Robina Gokongwei-Pe said in a statement.

“I am truly honored and excited for the opportunity to join the Board of Directors of RRHI. I look forward to supporting the company’s mission that has a direct impact on people’s lives and contributes lasting value to the communities it serves,” Tayag said.

Longtime BPO leader

Tayag led Accenture in the Philippines for over a decade, driving country strategy, talent programs, and industry capabilities while elevating the Philippines’ standing in the global IT industry.

He also chaired IBPAP and steered the IT-BPM Roadmap 2022, which helped generate 1.4 million jobs.

Balanced board leadership

Beyond his corporate track record, Tayag sits on the boards of PHINMA Education, FWD Life Insurance, St. Luke’s Medical Center, and the Makati Business Club. RRHI said his addition reflects its commitment to strong governance and a well-rounded board.

With Tayag and Lance Gokongwei now in place, RRHI aims to strengthen its strategic depth as it navigates the competitive retail sector under chair Robina Gokongwei-Pe, vice chair James Go, and president and CEO Stanley Co.
