Insider Spotlight
The bank’s efforts recently earned international recognition after it was named Digital Inclusion & Sustainability Champion at the Global Brand Frontier Awards 2026 organized by U.S.-based Boston Brand Research and Media.
The recognition highlights RCBC’s broader push to make banking services more accessible through digital platforms such as RCBC Pulz, RCBC DiskarTech, and RCBC ATM Go, which serve a wide range of consumers, from overseas Filipinos to traditionally underserved communities.
Innovations
Among the bank’s notable initiatives is the launch of the Philippines’ first U.S. Virtual Account through RCBC Pulz, allowing Filipinos without a U.S. address or residency to access U.S.-linked banking services. It also rolled out the MySSS Mastercard Debit Card linked to RCBC DiskarTech in partnership with the Social Security System (SSS).
RCBC also introduced what it described as Southeast Asia’s first manual cash withdrawal service for international and domestic tourists through RCBC ATM Go, further extending access to financial services beyond traditional banking channels.
The initiatives were among the programs highlighted in a company release announcing the recognition.
The big picture
“We believe financial institutions play a critical role not only in expanding access to banking services, but also in creating opportunities that empower communities and support economic participation. RCBC remains focused on developing digital solutions that deliver meaningful impact to Filipinos across all sectors,” said RCBC president and CEO Reggie Cariaso.
Financial inclusion has become a key battleground for Philippine banks as digital platforms create new pathways to reach consumers who have historically been underserved by traditional banking channels.
Boston Brand Research and Media said the annual awards program recognizes organizations that demonstrate innovation, industry leadership, and measurable global impact.
Financial inclusion
RCBC executive vice president and chief innovations and inclusion officer Lito Villanueva said the recognition reflects the growing importance of financial inclusion and sustainability in digital banking.
“We thank Boston Brand Research and Media for recognizing RCBC’s efforts to make digital banking more accessible,” Villanueva said.
