The program, running from November to December 2025, represents the company’s largest amnesty effort to date and offers a 100-percent penalty waiver for eligible users who fully repay their outstanding balance.
Why it matters
Consumer debt tends to spike during the holiday season, a period when Filipinos face heavier spending pressures. Bagong Simula aims to give customers a clean slate at a time when financial stress is most acute, while reinforcing Billease’s broader mission of expanding financial inclusion.
What they’re saying
“We know the holidays can be financially challenging,” said Daniel Stanc, vice president for collections at Billease. “Bagong Simula is our biggest pamasko — a dignified path for customers to rebuild and regain financial confidence.”
How it works
Customers who are more than 90 days past due and received an official Billease offer via email, push notification, or in-app message can redeem their penalty waiver through the Billease app under the Christmas amnesty program.
Once the full repayment is made, all accumulated penalties are automatically erased, according to the company.
By the numbers
The program has already seen strong engagement, with more than 15,000 customers responding during the early part of the rollout. Billease projects that more than one million customers could benefit nationwide, translating into billions of pesos in waived penalties for qualified users.

The initiative follows Billease’s large-scale customer events and holiday campaigns, strengthening goodwill among its more than ten million users. Bagong Simula stands out as a structural relief program rather than a promotional perk — an approach signaling Billease’s commitment to long-term customer support.
The big picture
With buy now, play later (BNPL) programs and consumer lending continuing to grow across the Philippines, delinquency pressures remain a challenge for many borrowers.
By offering an accessible path to clear overdue accounts, Billease is positioning itself as both a digital lender and financial recovery partner for its clients. — Daxim L. Lucas | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
