Lucky Chinatown was named Mall of the Year at the Retail Asia Awards 2026 in Singapore, extending Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ streak to four consecutive wins in the category.
Big picture
Developers are increasingly relying on mixed-use destinations that combine retail, culture, entertainment, and tourism to drive growth.
Located in the world’s oldest Chinatown, Lucky Chinatown has evolved into a commercial and cultural hub that hosts major community events and houses the Chinatown Museum.
Expansion boosts traffic
The mall’s New Imperial Wing added three levels of retail space, expanding gross leasable area to 36,000 square meters and bringing in tenants including Nitori’s first Manila store and KKV.
The development is also directly connected to Hotel Lucky Chinatown, integrating retail and hospitality offerings within a single destination.
Recognition secured
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls also won Lifestyle Mall of the Year for Uptown Bonifacio, Themed Mall of the Year for Venice Grand Canal, and Integrated Mixed-Use Mall of the Year for Festive Walk Iloilo.
The four-award sweep highlights the company’s strategy of building destination developments that blend commerce, tourism, and community engagement nationwide.
