  • Globe upholds corporate governance leadership.
  • Earns Five Golden Arrows for fourth straight year.
  • Cites governance as key to long-term value creation.

Globe Telecom Inc. reinforced its standing as a corporate governance leader in the region, maintaining top marks under the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) even as global standards tighten.

The company earned Five Golden Arrows from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) for the fourth consecutive year, affirming its commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership. The award places Globe among the region’s highest-rated publicly listed firms in governance excellence.

“This recognition underscores Globe’s steadfast pursuit of excellence in governance which is a cornerstone of how we drive long-term value, build stakeholder trust, and navigate the dynamic business environment with integrity,” said Marisalve Ciocson-Co, Globe’s chief compliance officer and senior vice president for legal and compliance.

Driving value through integrity

The Five Golden Arrows represent the highest distinction under the ACGS—given to companies scoring at least 115 points in measures that assess shareholder rights, board effectiveness, and sustainability practices. The ICD’s evaluation now aligns with the updated G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance, which emphasize stronger board accountability and sustainability disclosure.

For Globe, the recognition highlights its ability to adapt governance structures to evolving investor expectations and regulatory frameworks. The company’s board oversight, risk management, and sustainability integration remain central to its operational model.

Groupwide governance culture

Globe’s recognition mirrors the Ayala Group’s broader governance discipline, with parent firm Ayala Corporation also receiving Five Golden Arrows this year. The accolade follows Globe’s 50th year of listing on the Philippine Stock Exchange—an achievement that underscores its long-term focus on governance as a foundation for business resilience.

“This important citation would not be possible without the tireless dedication and commitment of our Compliance, Sustainability, and Audit teams,” said Globe president and CEO Carl Cruz. “This accomplishment is a testament to the strong governance culture that flows from our major shareholders, Ayala Corp. and Singapore Telecom.”

What’s next

As Globe accelerates its digital transformation, it continues to anchor growth on the same governance principles that have earned it regional distinction. The company positions ethical leadership and compliance as central to sustaining trust among investors and customers—critical to navigating the next phase of digital and sustainability transitions.
