Leading Filipino life insurer Insular Life (InLife) bagged two honors at the ESG Business Awards 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — a recognition of its deepening commitment to sustainability, responsible business, and community empowerment.

Why it matters:

InLife, the country’s first and largest Filipino-owned life insurance company, is proving that long-term business success can align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values — an increasingly critical benchmark in financial services.

InLife earned two distinctions in the Job Creation and Economic Resilience Award category:

  • Reward and Recognition Award – Philippines: for its employee program that strengthens career development, rewards excellence, and promotes holistic wellness.

  • Economic Empowerment Award – Philippines: For the InLife Foundation’s Gold Eagle College Scholarship and Skills Training Programs, which support education and livelihood among underserved Filipinos.

What they’re saying:

“Our employee and community programs attest to our mission of leading Filipinos to ‘A Lifetime for Good,” said Noel Andres M. Perdigon, InLife chief sustainability officer.

“As we celebrate 115 years of service, these awards further inspire us to continue doing good for our employees and communities.”

Between the lines:

The recognition cements InLife’s role as a homegrown financial institution advancing ESG integration at both the corporate and community levels — from employee growth to educational access and economic inclusion.

The big picture:

The ESGBusiness Awards recognizes companies across Asia that embed sustainability into their operations, measuring success beyond profit through social and environmental impact.

Earlier this month, InLife’s Talent Management and Development Program also won Gold at the Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards 2025, spotlighting its workplace culture that fosters career progression and lifelong learning.

The bottom line:

As InLife marks 115 years, its back-to-back ESG wins underscore a clear direction — a legacy of financial strength anchored on people, purpose, and progress.  –Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
