At the Economic Times Human Capital Awards in Singapore on July 25, the bank earned a bronze for Excellence in HR Digital Transformation.
The honor recognized its HCM System Transformation Project, which launched the HCM Employee Resources Online (HeRO) platform in 2023. HeRO streamlines HR processes, boosts productivity, and enhances the employee experience.
Why it matters
The bank’s people-first philosophy, summed up in its “You matter” employee value proposition, is reshaping how it supports staff and customers.
The HR overhaul has produced measurable gains: 99 percent satisfaction among new hires, 25 percent time savings for managers through HR automation, and a 67 percent improvement in operational efficiency from retiring legacy systems. Digital adoption stands at 99 percent on web and 80 percent on mobile.
Broader recognition
Building on these gains, Security Bank earned a bronze for Excellence in Work-Life Harmony at the HR Excellence Awards 2025. Programs such as hybrid work, flexible benefits, enhanced leave options, day-one health coverage, and robust wellness initiatives helped the bank reach a 78 employee engagement score, topping the market average of 72.
On Aug. 26, HR Asia named the bank among the Best Companies to Work for in Asia–Philippines, highlighting its strong employee engagement, inclusivity and long-term development efforts.
The bottom line
“These recognitions affirm that by investing in our employees’ growth and well-being, we’re also strengthening our ability to be the most customer-centric bank in the Philippines,” said Nerissa Berba, EVP and chief people officer at Security Bank. —Ed: Vanessa Hidalgo
