That message took center stage at the YouTube Works Awards Philippines 2026, where Google gathered marketers, advertisers, agencies and content creators to recognize campaigns that turned audience attention into measurable business growth.
The event also highlighted how YouTube has evolved beyond a video-sharing platform into an ecosystem where entertainment, commerce and creator influence increasingly shape how Filipinos discover products and make purchasing decisions.
Attention that converts
Google Philippines country manager Prep Palacios said YouTube's strength lies not only in its massive reach but in the confidence viewers place in creators.
"From Shorts and long-form videos to living-room TV content, podcasts and online shopping, YouTube has built a complete ecosystem that connects with millions of Filipinos every single day," Palacios said.
Its biggest advantage, he added, is trust. Eight in 10 Filipino viewers rely on product recommendations from YouTube creators, helping transform casual viewing into informed buying decisions.
That engagement continues to grow across multiple formats.
More than 19 million Filipinos now watch YouTube on connected televisions, while uploads of YouTube Shorts in the Philippines have surged by more than 90 percent year on year, reflecting the platform's growing role in both entertainment and information.
More than a video platform
Google said YouTube's growth rests on three pillars—culture, creators and commerce.
As the country's leading video platform, YouTube has become home to everything from mainstream entertainment and music to niche Filipino communities and educational content, allowing brands to reach audiences across different interests and demographics.
Equally important is the influence of creators.
To help brands tap into that influence, Google recently rolled out YouTube Creator Partnerships in the Philippines. The platform uses artificial intelligence to help marketers discover creators based on keywords, audience profiles and engagement before collaborating on advertising campaigns.
Once partnerships are formed, brands can amplify creator content through paid promotions while measuring campaign performance using Google's marketing tools.
Commerce has also become a larger part of YouTube's ecosystem.
Shopping features now allow viewers to purchase products featured in videos through partner marketplaces, while advertisers can connect directly with shoppers already showing strong purchase intent.
Google said these capabilities, combined with its Gemini artificial intelligence platform, help match viewers with relevant creators and products while delivering stronger returns for advertisers.
GCash takes top honors
The evening's highest award, Best of Philippines, went to GCash for its GLoan with Free Health Insurance: Loan Song Syndrome campaign.
Instead of relying on technical financial messaging, the campaign used humor, relatable family situations and a catchy jingle to promote emergency loans bundled with free health insurance.
The strategy extended across multiple YouTube formats, from full-length videos to six-second bumper ads, while Google's AI-powered advertising tools helped convert viewers into customers.
According to Google, the campaign increased GLoan's daily users by 14.5 percent and boosted daily loan disbursements by 36.7 percent.
Searches for "Free Health Insurance" also climbed sharply, while customer acquisition costs fell significantly compared with conventional search campaigns.
"For many Filipinos, providing for the family means finding ways to make every peso count. But when emergencies happen, having quick access to a financial lifeline can make all the difference," said Neil Trinidad, chief marketing officer of GCash.
He said the campaign sought not only to make GLoan more memorable but also to make financial protection more accessible.
Creativity with measurable impact
Other major winners included Del Monte Philippines for The Big Bang, Jollibee for Multiformat Storytelling, Colgate Total for Brands & Creators, and Maggi Philippines for Best of Festive.
WPP Media was named Media Agency of the Year, Publicis Jimenez Basic took Creative Agency of the Year, while HIIP Philippines received Specialty Agency of the Year.
For Google, the winners underscored a broader shift in digital marketing: success today depends not only on producing creative content but also on building authentic relationships between brands, creators and consumers—turning trust into measurable business results. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
