Insider Spotlight
Starting Oct. 2, a 17-foot LED Pokémon Truck will travel across Metro Manila and nearby areas, giving visitors a chance to play “Pokémon Pokopia” on Nintendo Switch 2. The Philippine tour will run until Jan. 24, 2027, following similar runs in Malaysia and Singapore that attracted more than 250,000 visitors combined.
The big picture
The roadshow gives The Pokémon Company a way to put its latest gaming experience in front of consumers while turning the product demonstration into a broader family-oriented activity.
The custom-built truck has six Nintendo Switch 2 gaming stations, including four dedicated to “Pokémon Pokopia.” The game lets players create their own world alongside Pokémon. Two additional stations will feature a selection of Nintendo games at featured stops.
Each station includes a Nintendo Switch 2 system, a themed board and playing instructions, with staff available to assist visitors.
Beyond gaming:
The setup also includes an interactive “Pokémon Pokopia” photo zone and decorative wall. Outdoor activities include a coloring corner for children and families, while Pikachu mascot appearances are planned during selected weekend sessions.
Visitors can also receive commemorative “Pokémon Pokopia” sun visors while supplies last.
The truck will circulate through Parañaque, Las Piñas, Bacoor, Muntinlupa, Imus, Dasmariñas and General Trias on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, according to a company release. From Fridays to Sundays, it will park at selected locations where the full gaming experience, event stage and activity zones will be available.
What they're saying
“We’re bringing the Pokémon Truck to malls across Metro Manila so that as many people in the Philippines as possible can enjoy this experience,” The Pokémon Company manager Kenichiro Fujino said. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to the wonderful world of Pokémon Pokopia. Even if you can’t visit the malls, keep an eye out for the truck as it travels around the city on weekdays. We can’t wait for you to try the game!”
Where to find it
The first weekend stop is Market! Market! from Oct. 2 to 4. Other scheduled destinations include Ayala Malls Vermosa, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Ayala Malls Arca South, Ayala Malls Nuvali and Ayala Malls Evo City, with appearances continuing through January.
