ASUS ROG bets on cooling, customization for premium gaming

ASUS Republic of Gamers is betting that extreme performance alone is no longer enough to distinguish premium gaming desktops, combining high-end hardware with dedicated cooling and customizable holographic visuals to appeal to enthusiasts seeking both computing power and personal expression. 

ROG Philippines on Sept. 29 introduced the ROG G1000 gaming desktop alongside its limited-edition ROG Slash Backpack Edition 20 and ROG Slash Hard-Case Luggage Edition 20, expanding its 20th-anniversary lineup in the Philippine market.

Larger cooling hardware

The G1000's main differentiator is its built-in AniMe Holo fan, which ROG describes as the world's first holographic fan system in a prebuilt gaming PC. It can display customizable holographic visuals while operating in a chamber separate from the desktop's primary thermal path, ASUS ROG said in a statement.

Under the hood

The system uses a ROG Thermal Atrium that channels fresh air through a 420 mm AIO liquid cooler with three fans and isolated airflow paths. The configuration announced for the Philippines includes an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 graphics, while the platform supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory.

The 104-liter ultra-tower chassis is designed to accommodate larger cooling hardware, while a dedicated Fan Key can trigger maximum airflow. Armoury Crate and Aura Sync provide controls for RGB lighting and the AniMe Holo display.

The ROG G1000 will be sold through select ROG Exclusive Stores at an introductory price of P399,995.

Travel products

ROG is also marking its 20th anniversary with travel products. The ROG Slash Backpack Edition 20 accommodates laptops up to 18 inches and uses an adjustable roll-top design and magnetic quick-release buckle.

The accompanying hard-case luggage uses a polycarbonate shell, aluminum frame, reinforced corners and dedicated storage for gaming equipment. The backpack will cost P10,995, while the luggage will cost P15,995, with both scheduled for Philippine availability in the fourth quarter of 2026. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
