The partnership, which involves the establishment of a new company with entertainment tycoon Vicente Del Rosario Jr.’s Viva Records, will focus on music production, recording, marketing, distribution, artist management, and publishing.
While GMA already operates its own music arm, GMA Music, the deal signals a bid to tap into Viva’s deep catalog, production expertise, and artist network.
In 2024, GMA Music more than doubled its dividend payout to P6.9 million from P3 million the past year, reflecting robust growth in this segment.
It also comes as network accelerates its push into the digital content space, where music and streaming have become key growth drivers.

Viva Records’ parent, Viva Communications Inc., is a major entertainment and lifestyle group with businesses spanning film, digital media, and even restaurant ventures like Botejyu, Greyhound Café, and PaperMoon.
Nikkei Asia previously reported that the Viva Group was among the initial public offering candidates in 2024 before plans were shelved.
