Media giant ABS-CBN continues to showcase Filipino content-making excellence through compelling performances, original stories, and high-quality adaptations.
This commitment earned the company three honors at the seventh ContentAsia Awards, held Thursday, August 27, in Bangkok, Thailand, where more than 500 entries competed and over 180 programs received nominations across 35 categories.
Angelica Leads the Wins
- Angelica Panganiban won Bronze for Best Female Lead in a TV Programme/Series Made in Asia for playing Jackie Carpio in ABS-CBN Studios and Prime Video’s mystery-thriller limited series “The Silent Noise.”
- Directed by Onat Diaz, the 10-episode series follows a family shaken by the mysterious death of their deaf son’s teacher, exposing secrets and buried truths that test their trust.
- The series also stars Zanjoe Marudo, KD Omalin, Zaijian Jaranilla, Mutya Orquia, and Mylene Dizon, and previously won Best Asian Content at the Global OTT Awards 2026 in South Korea.
“Call Me Mother” Celebrates Family
“Call Me Mother,” starring Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre, received Silver for Best Feature Film or Telemovie Made in Asia.
Directed by Jun Robles Lana, the comedy-drama follows queer foster mother Twinkle (Vice), who hopes to legally adopt his son Angelo (Lucas Andalio), and biological mother Mara (Nadine), whose return unfolds a story about motherhood, sacrifice, and the many ways a family can be formed.
Filipino Adaptation Earns Silver
- ABS-CBN Studios won Silver for Best TV Format Adaptation (Scripted) in Asia for its Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean series “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” starring Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia, and Carlo Aquino.
- The series follows emotionally troubled children’s book author Mia (Anne), psychiatric ward caregiver Patpat (Joshua), and his older brother Matmat (Carlo), who is on the autism spectrum, as they confront childhood trauma and find healing, acceptance, and love.
