Located about 110 kilometers south of Manila within Bauan International Port, the facility is designed to become the Philippines’ second-largest container terminal once completed.
The development will also place ICTSI, backed by tycoon Enrique Razon Jr., within the Batangas Bay port complex, near the existing Batangas Container Terminal operated by Asian Terminals Inc., adding another major container gateway in the area.
“It’s never easy to take the first step. Having a vision is one thing, but making it happen on the ground requires strong partnership with local leaders who are committed to delivering critical infrastructure,” said Christian R. Gonzalez, ICTSI executive vice president
“We hope that what we unveil today will inspire everyone and demonstrate what can be achieved through long-term collaboration and commitment,” he added.
Phase one includes construction of a 425-meter quay designed for super post-Panamax ships, with marine works running through 2027 and full completion targeted by 2028.
The project is expected to support Southern Luzon’s fast-growing industrial corridor, including manufacturing zones and energy projects that rely on large cargo shipments.
At full development, the terminal will feature an 800-meter quay, 38 hectares of container yard, and 18-meter berth depth, enabling it to handle ultra-large container vessels.
The facility is projected to deliver over two million TEUs of annual capacity, significantly expanding the country’s container throughput.
