Starting Oct. 26, the widebody jet will fly daily between Manila and Iloilo, with additional routes to Puerto Princesa (4x weekly from November 2) and Bohol (daily from November 16).
This strategy, known as upgauging, allows the airline to serve high-demand routes more efficiently by deploying bigger planes without increasing flight frequency.
Management’s view
“We’re excited to expand our A330neo operations to more Philippine destinations, as this allows us to offer more seats, lower fares, and an even more comfortable travel experience for our passengers,” Xander Lao, president and and chief commercial officer of Cebu Pacific, said in a statement.
“By increasing capacity to key domestic routes, we not only make travel more accessible, but also help drive tourism and stimulate economic activity, creating opportunities for local communities and further supporting the growth of Philippine tourism,” he added.
Bigger jet, better access
The move gives more travelers access to major tourist hubs, Puerto Princesa’s white sand beaches, Iloilo’s heritage sites, and Bohol’s iconic tarsiers and hills, using a jet that delivers higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
Cebu Pacific operates 12 A330neos and recently became the first local airline to reach a 100-aircraft fleet.
The A330neo’s high capacity and extended range help the airline serve both regional and domestic markets more sustainably and cost-effectively.
