Insider Spotlight
The airline will operate flights from Manila to Hanoi and Da Nang, opening access to two of Vietnam’s most popular destinations. Introductory one-way base fares begin at P888, exclusive of fees and surcharges, available for booking until February 1, 2026. The travel period runs from March 20 to October 25, 2026.
Why it matters
The new routes add momentum to AirAsia Philippines’ regional growth strategy, as demand for affordable international travel continues to rebound. Vietnam has emerged as a high-interest destination for leisure travelers, while also offering opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two countries.
Both routes are set to begin operations on March 20, 2026, giving travelers several months to plan ahead and take advantage of promotional fares.
AirAsia Philippines will mount four weekly flights to Hanoi and four weekly flights to Da Nang, scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, with departures timed from afternoon to evening.
The big picture
This expansion follows the airline’s recent launch of its Cebu hub and reflects its broader push to improve regional connectivity.
The announcement was shared as part of a press release outlining AirAsia Philippines’ plans to strengthen its international network while keeping fares accessible for price-sensitive travelers.
AirAsia Philippines said the Vietnam routes align with its long-term goal of reinforcing Southeast Asia as a core market, while positioning the carrier as a leading budget airline for both outbound and inbound travel.
What they’re saying
“The addition of Vietnam to our route network highlights AirAsia Philippines’ commitment to growth and leadership in the budget travel market. Our hope is to give Filipino travelers more choices, better value, and easier access to exciting destinations in Southeast Asia. We also aim to bring more tourists to the Philippines to contribute to economic growth,” said Capt. Suresh Bangah, CEO and president of AirAsia Philippines.
What’s next
With Vietnam now part of its route map, AirAsia Philippines is expected to continue evaluating new destinations within the region. The airline has signaled that expanding connectivity and maintaining competitive pricing will remain central to its strategy as international travel accelerates through 2026.
