CLI enters this new phase after being named Best Developer in the Philippines at the 14th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards, where it collected nine awards spanning developer, residential, hospitality and design categories. The event was held August 20 at Shangri-La The Fort in Manila.
Why it matters
The recognition comes as CLI builds a broader national footprint. The listed developer now has 132 projects across 18 key cities in Visayas and Mindanao and is bringing its experience and approach to development to Luzon.
"When I joined the company 16 years ago, we were just a team of 20 - now, we have a workforce of 1,500. It's been a journey filled with a lot of hard work but definitely defined strongly by the purpose of CLI, which is to treat real estate as a service for our countrymen. We will view this recognition not just as an award, but as a responsibility to represent all of us in the industry in the best way possible and set a good example," CLI president and CEO Jose Franco Soberano said in a statement.

CLI was also named Best Housing Developer and secured Best Developer in Visayas and Best Developer in Mindanao for the sixth consecutive year.
Five developments added category wins: The Wave Towers for Best High-End Condo Development in Metro Cebu; North Grove at Pristina Town for Best Mid-End Condo Development in Metro Cebu; Radisson RED Cebu Mandaue for Best Next Gen Hotel Development; Casa Mira Homes GenSan for Best Housing Development in Mindanao; and Astra Lifestyle Centre for Best Retail Architectural Design.
The big picture
The wins reflect CLI’s expansion across multiple property segments, from premium and mid-market residences and economic housing to hospitality, retail, mixed-use and township projects.
What’s next
CLI will represent the Philippines at the Asia Property Awards, putting the homegrown developer alongside leading property companies from across Asia as it simultaneously works to establish its presence in Luzon. —Connie Fernandez-Brojan | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
