Challenging norms
Acer Day is marking its 10th anniversary this year, coinciding with Acer’s 50th anniversary as a technology company. For the occasion, Acer introduced “SHIFT THE GAME” as its regional theme, framing it as a call for consumers to take ownership of their paths and challenge norms in culture, work and play.

In the Philippines, the campaign will culminate in the Acer Day Concert on Aug. 30 at the Araneta Coliseum. Luis Manzano will host the event, with Acer ambassadors SB19 headlining alongside 6cyclemind, Hey June!, El Manu and Jessy Kang, Dionela, Fitterkarma and Earl Agustin.
“Acer Day has always been a festive affair that our fans look forward to year after year,” Acer Philippines managing director Sue Ong-Lim said in a press statement.
“This year’s Acer Day Concert reflects our commitment to providing youth with the technology they need to break barriers and shift the game,” Ong-Lim added.
Sustainable growth
Founded in 1976, Acer now operates in more than 160 countries and employs nearly 12,000 people. Its portfolio spans computers and displays while the company has also branched into new businesses and says it is pursuing sustainable growth alongside its environmental and social responsibilities.
What to watch
The anniversary campaign also connects consumer purchases with the live event. Fans can obtain concert tickets by buying participating Acer and Acerpure products, making the concert both a brand-building exercise and a mechanism for driving engagement around the company’s product portfolio. —Vanessa Hidalgo| Ed: Corrie S.
