Insider Spotlight
According to government data, MSMEs make up 99.5 percent of businesses nationwide and generate about 65 percent of total employment. Yet beyond access to funding, many entrepreneurs struggle with visibility and strategic connections, often limiting their growth trajectory.
Global Dominion Financing Inc. is responding by expanding its engagement beyond loans through the Global Dominion Awards, an initiative designed to elevate standout enterprises and amplify their stories across industries.
Why it matters
Recognition can be a growth multiplier. For small businesses, third-party validation strengthens brand trust, attracts new customers, and opens doors to investors and partners.
"More than a celebration, the awards are designed to spark momentum," Patricia Poco-Palacios, president and CEO of Global Dominion Financing Inc., said in a press statement.
"Global Dominion views recognition as a catalyst for growth. When best practices are highlighted and success stories are shared, they inspire other entrepreneurs and help raise standards across industries,” she added.
The big picture
The awards reflect a broader shift in how financial institutions support MSMEs —moving from transactional lending to ecosystem-building. By combining financial services with structured recognition, Global Dominion positions itself as a long-term growth partner.
The program highlights three categories: Fastest-Growing SME, Most Innovative SME, and the C.A.R.E. Award (Communities, Altruism, Relationships, and Environment), underscoring both performance and purpose.
Excellence in action
Among the 2026 awardees, Corrsy’s Kitchen earned Most Innovative SME after transforming a homemade cheese pimiento recipe into a multi-branch operation in SM Fairview, Bicutan, and SM Bacoor.
The brand pivoted aggressively during market disruptions, expanding into online sales and regional fairs.
KCars Auto-Exchange, named Fastest-Growing SME, evolved from a home-based dealership into a professional showroom with an inventory valued at around P3 million, combining car sales with financing services.
Meanwhile, eco-conscious brand Xavier & Xandrei received the C.A.R.E. Award for integrating sustainability and community-building into its growth strategy, partnering with major institutions while supporting women entrepreneurs.
What’s next
As competition intensifies across sectors, structured recognition programs may become an increasingly vital tool in strengthening the country’s MSME backbone—proving that visibility, alongside capital, can accelerate inclusive economic growth. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
