The initiative, held from Feb. 10 to 25, brings free diagnostic services, laboratory tests, X-rays, and medical consultations directly to Grade 1 to 6 learners and school staff, reducing cost and mobility barriers that often delay treatment.
The mission is organized by Robinsons Land Foundation the corporate social responsibility arm of Robinsons Land Corp., in partnership with Maxicare, Southstar Drug, Ideal Vision, the Department of Education, and the Pasig City Government.
Why it matters
The program complements national health care priorities focused on early detection and preventive care among children, while offering a scalable template for public-private healthcare delivery at the community level.
By embedding services within the school, the partners aim to address common health care access gaps such as transportation expenses, time constraints, and late diagnosis.
What they’re saying
“Maxicare believes that healthy kids grow into great leaders. By nurturing their minds and caring for their health now, we help build a brighter, stronger future,” Christian Argos, president and CEO of Maxicare Group, said in a press statement on March 2, 2026.
“This vision is only possible because we are working as one. We are proud to partner with the Robinsons Land Foundation, Southstar Drug, Ideal Vision, the Department of Education, and the Local Government of Pasig to support this community," he added.
“Through Robinsons Land Foundation, we are committed to supporting programs that create measurable and lasting impact in the communities we serve,” said Constantino “Tante” Felipe, Robinsons Land Foundation executive director.
“This collaboration with Maxicare, the Pasig City Government, and the Department of Education reflects our shared vision of strengthening preventive healthcare at the grassroots level. When the private sector aligns its resources with public sector priorities, we can help build systems that are more responsive, more inclusive, and better equipped to support the well-being of Filipino children,” Felipe said.
The bigger picture
The initiative underscores Maxicare’s support for the Pasig City Government’s healthcare expansion efforts and its alignment with the Universal Health Care Law.
“As we look ahead, our focus remains on deepening partnerships that enable sustainable, community-based healthcare solutions. Beyond initiatives like this medical mission, we are also bringing accessible options such as our PRIMA Healthcare Cards and LifesavER Emergency Cards closer to Filipino families, ” Argos added.
Through similar collaborations, Maxicare is positioning itself as a long-term health care partner for local governments and school communities nationwide. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
