Lopez-Led FPIP constructing commercial hub in Sto. Tomas, Batangas

Lopez-led First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) broke ground on a three-story mixed-use hub inside its nearly 600-hectare property in Sto. Tomas, Batangas on Sept. 10, 2024.

FPIP Plaza is a 15,000-square meter space that will house various retail establishments, restaurants, service centers, corporate offices, and government offices upon its completion.

It will cater to the growing needs of FPIP’s 70,000 employees, locators and the surrounding community, the company said in a statement.

The project also aims to further enhance the economic landscape of Sto. Tomas and Tanuan, Batangas.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, FPIP chief commercial officer Jose Valentin Pantangco highlighted the hub’s significance. 

“FPIP Plaza is a testament to our commitment to support the community and locators while also creating a space for the people of Sto. Tomas and nearby barangays to gather and connect,” he said.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by local officials, including Batangas 3rd District Congresswoman Maitet Collantes, AnaKalusugan Partylist Representative Ray ReyesSto. Tomas Mayor Arth Jhun Marasigan, and Batangas Vice Governor Jose Antonio “Mark” Leviste II.

Collantes praised the project, noting its potential to boost business opportunities, create jobs, and attract investments. 

Reyes emphasized the role of FPIP Plaza in modernizing the area and improving the residents' quality of life.

FPIP is a Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) -registered ecozone that is home to more than 150 world-class locators, including Collins Aerospace, Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata Inc., and Dyson. 

It  has partnered with construction firm First Balfour and architectural firm Aidea to develop FPIP Plaza which is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026.
