Tycoon Eusebio Tanco, chair of DigiPlus, told reporters on Thursday their registered player numbers doubled to about 40 million in 2024.
The P118-billion company also aims to boost earnings this year, supported by state-run Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.'s move to reduce fees for e-gaming licensees, which include DigiPlus, from 35 percent to 30 percent.
But Tanco also cautioned that while the company has shown strong growth over the past three years, investors should not get used to expecting exponential gains.
“Our aim is to do better than the year past, but we also try to manage expectations,” he said.
DigiPlus posted ₱8.75 billion in net income in the first nine months, up 314 percent year-on-year, driven by retail games and new products.
Revenues rose 223 percent to ₱51.56 billion, while ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) surged 271 percent to ₱9.34 billion.
