PAL said the partnership marks the first corporate collaboration under its newly introduced program tailored specifically for schools, positioning the airline to tap a segment that regularly requires coordinated, large-scale travel for academic and cultural activities.
Why it matters
Educational institutions increasingly rely on travel for competitions, immersions, and overseas exposure, but logistics can be complex and resource-intensive.
By formalizing a school-focused program, PAL is signaling that education travel is no longer treated as ad hoc group bookings but as a distinct corporate segment with specific needs.
Under the agreement
Xavier School becomes PAL’s pioneer partner school, setting the template for how future partnerships with other educational institutions may be structured. The program gives the school access to special travel privileges and streamlined booking processes designed to make planning and execution more efficient for students and faculty.
Beyond transport
PAL said the initiative goes beyond flights. It also opens opportunities for experiential learning, including guided tours of PAL facilities and access to technical training programs that expose students to aviation operations and related careers.
What they said
“As the nation’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines understands the importance of a reliable partner in the skies,” Rabbi Vincent Ang, PAL express president, said in a press release.
“Our commitment is to ensure that every journey taken by the Xavier School community is marked by safety, comfort, and genuine heartfelt care.”
“PAL has always been helpful in our major programs such as Xavier China Experience and Explore Philippines. This partnership formalizes what is already evident all along,” said Fr. Joseph Haw SJ, Xavier School president.
“We look forward to elevating the delivery of our programs to greater heights with this partnership. For us, it is always an honor to fly with our country’s flag carrier.”
What’s next
PAL said the Xavier partnership signals the start of a “fresh approach to school travel,” with the airline positioning its education-focused program as a scalable model it can replicate with other schools as demand for organized academic travel continues to grow. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S.
