Insider Spotlight
The partners unveiled “Mastercard Mondays,” a weekly offer that lets Mastercard users unlock exclusive discounts and elevated rewards when reserving flights at the start of the week.
Why it matters
The initiative brings together PAL’s extensive route network and Mastercard’s rewards ecosystem to create a value-driven travel experience.
For both companies, the partnership reinforces their push to make flight planning simpler, more affordable, and more rewarding for Filipino and global travelers.
The details
Open to all Mastercard cardholders, the promo provides a 10-percent discount on base fares for both domestic and international PAL flights booked every Monday.
Beyond the fare reduction, travelers can earn additional Mabuhay Miles on eligible bookings and gain access to Mastercard’s expanded roster of rewards.
In a press release on Dec. 1, 2025, Alvin Miranda, PAL vice president for marketing, emphasized how the collaboration boosts the overall travel proposition for customers: “Mastercard Mondays is an exclusive collaboration of Philippine Airlines with Mastercard that gives more value to cardholders. They can now look forward to Mondays to book their tickets with PAL and avail themselves of exclusive discounts and rewards.”
How it works
Travelers simply need to book through the PAL website or mobile app, enter the promo code MASTERCARD at the start of the booking process, and complete payment using a Mastercard.
The promo runs every Monday until Dec. 29, 2025, giving customers a prolonged window to plan trips, whether for holidays, reunions, or corporate travel.
What they’re saying
Miranda added, “Whether you are planning for a solo trip or a vacation with family or friends, the 10-percent discount you can get through Mastercard Mondays can go a long way. This is also one of the many ways PAL continues to provide the best value to travelers.”
The big picture
With PAL operating a full-service network connecting the Philippines to key global destinations and Mastercard powering payment experiences worldwide, the collaboration leverages both brands’ strengths.
Together, they aim to make Mondays a strategic moment for travelers to secure savings—turning the typically slow start of the week into a smart booking opportunity. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
