In a statement, the country’s largest private hospital network said this move further strengthens Metro Pacific Health's presence in Mindanao, with SFDH becoming the sixth hospital under its banner in the region.
SFDH, a 100-bed facility that opened in 2013, serves San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, and nearby areas. Metro Pacific Health plans to enhance the hospital's operations through investments in infrastructure and medical services to meet the growing healthcare needs of the local population.
The acquisition was carried out in partnership with Santos Clinic, Inc. (SCI), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Health that manages the nearby Manuel J. Santos Hospital in Butuan. The proximity of the two hospitals, located just 80 kilometers apart, is expected to create operational synergies and improve healthcare delivery in the region.
Metro Pacific Health president Augie Palisoc, Jr. highlighted the strategic value of this acquisition in expanding the company’s healthcare footprint. “This investment aligns with our mission to provide high-quality healthcare to underserved communities,” Palisoc said.
Oslec Lopez, president of SCI, emphasized that the integration of SFDH into Metro Pacific Health's network ensures that Agusan del Sur residents will benefit from advanced medical services. SCI and Metro Pacific Health plan to further develop the hospital's facilities and capabilities to better serve the region.
With this latest acquisition, Metro Pacific Health continues to build on its reputation as the largest private hospital group in the Philippines, having a total of 25 hospitals and a robust network of outpatient clinics and allied healthcare services.
