It was honored during a glitzy awards ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand last Nov. 24 as the best in the region, joining esteemed local spots like The Curator and The Spirits Library.
“It is with great honor and pleasure to be introduced as one of Tatler’s Best 100 Bars in Asia,” LIT Manila shared in a social media post.
“Nearing our 10th year, we are reminded how blessed we are to be among people that inspire us to do what we do: people that walked into our quaint space, our friends, our patrons, our team, and this incredible industry that we’re grateful to call our peers! Thank you all for putting us where we are right now,” the post added.
LIT Manila was founded by various partners led by Alsons Group scion Marco Alcantara and spouse Katrina Kuhn-Alcantara, the Filipino-Swiss chef behind establishments such as Catalogue and Mesclun.
The bar is headed by resident whisky concierge and audiophile Francis Hasegawa.
Located on the ground floor of the upscale Serendra complex in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, LIT Manila blends tradition with innovation, offering expertly crafted whisky selections under the guidance of Hasegawa.
According to Tatler, the esteemed lifestyle and society publication, must-try drinks include the LIT Manila Old Fashioned, Summer in Hokkaido, and Japonism Fragrance.
The establishment pairs its top tier whisky and cocktails with yakitori and gyoza, while guests can opt to enjoy dishes from the nearby Mamou steakhouse and Hossein.
Several Philippines-based establishments earned recognition, including hotels like Amanpulo, Pangulasian Island (El Nido Resorts), and Shangri-La the Fort, Manila. Also recognized were restaurants such as Antonio’s, Gallery by Chele, Helm by Josh Boutwood, Metiz, Toyo Eatery, and Tsukiji Makati.
