As the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines (EJAP) turns 41 in 2026, it kicked off a modernization push under a newly installed leadership team.

The shift was launched Monday as John Ted Cordero of GMA Integrated News was inducted president, with Maria Bernadette Romero (Daily Tribune) and Lorenz Marasigan (BusinessMirror) as vice presidents, alongside Beatriz Cruz (BusinessWorld) as secretary, Jed Aldous Macapagal (Malaya Business Insight) as treasurer, and Brix Lelis (The Philippine Star) as auditor.

“Progress is not built by observers, it is built by partners. To EJAP, thank you for four decades of keeping score, asking hard questions, and holding all of us to account. Keep watching closely, we intend to keep delivering, because that is what we owe to those who spend their lives feeding the nation,” said agriculture secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr.
