Basic Energy Corp., a listed power firm with investments in renewable energy and oil exploration, named former Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim S. Jacinto-Henares as chair of the board while banking veteran Alberto Emilio V. Ramos was elected director.

The changes were made as the company announced longtime director Ramon L. Mapa will step down effective Jan. 1, 2025, due to health reasons.

Ramos served as president of Malayan Savings Bank from 2020 until March this year.
